Mancini- strongly influenced by A. Scarlatti- ranks among the most important composers of the Italian Late-Baroque. He left behinf countless operas, oratorios, chamber-cantatas and instrumental works, which were already in his lifetime very popular beyond his hometown Naples. The originally for recorder composed sonata of this edition was first printed in London 1724.
