Charles Babell (1636-1716) met Agostino Steffani at the court of Hannover. The presented sonata in d-minor is an editing by Babell after an original from Steffanis opera I Rivali concordi, the first movement of the sonata is an editing of the aria Deh prestarvi Amore from the first act.
