The from France to England emigrated instrument maker Peter Bressan (1663-1731) seemed to ave exclusively worked with the construction of recorders. And thereby he brought it to extraordinary perfection, from which all conserved instruments in museums and private collections demonstrate. The basis for my reconstructions are the instruments from the Brüggen and Bate collection, from the museum „Preußischer Kulturbesitz“ in Berlin as well as the Musée de la Musique in Paris.
The copy of this Bressan model in 415 Hz made of European boxwood by Ralf Ehlert convinces by its full, powerful, light, flexible reponse and exceptional intonation.
