Haydn, Joseph - Scotish folksongs - AAA / AAB

Haydn wrote his Scotish folksongs for the, without-one`s-fault trapped in misfortune, English publisher William Napier, in order to enable him a new start. Scotish melodies were very popular at Haydns times and were attractive to the great mass of amateur musicians and not to hard in their demands. This way the “rescue” of napier worked out and for the next generations a comprehensive collection of beautiful and touching music could be maintained. Content: The lass of Livingston - Up in the morning early - My heart´s in the highlands - Barbara Allen - Sleepy bodie - Be kind to the young thing - Green grow the rashes - John Anderson - The black eagle - By the stream so cool and clear a.m.m.
