The goal of the composition was to create a music-orchestral customization for a great recorder ensemble. The piece lies on two different characters: the fast, wild rhythm of the beginning take turns with the selfsufficient chords. Ten Times Tenor was originally performed on the 12th September 2004 during the third Recorder Festival Montreal in the Redpath Hall/ McGill University by the Manhattan Recorder Orchestra.
