Vivaldis first recorder concert, the concert in F-major (RV 442) he wrote originally for alto recorder, strings and basso continuo. The editing for recorder-quartet represents all movements unshortened. It offers- in opposite to the virtuoso recorder concerts RV 441 and RV 443-445 - the chance to get to work on a wonderful Vivaldi-concert in the difficulty of the (easy) middle level.
The concert is perfectly suited for a clear quartet as well as for bigger ensembles. Especially in bigger ensembles the dynamic contrasts of the solo- and tutti-passages can be realized in sound perfectly. The participation of a subbass in the tutti-passages can additionally underline the contrasts to the soli.
