The quartet is originally a concert for 2 recorders, vioka and violoncello & b.c., but it also sounds convincing as a clear recorder quartet, especially since the addition "pour le flut" is noted in the continuo in the Dresdener source. The bass part can be especially well doubled with a great bass, overall this creates a sonorous, warm sound in diverting motives with partially virtuoso playing figures.
Order of movements: Grave - Vivace - Tendrement - Gayment
