Marais, Marain - Les Folies d'Espagne - 2 treble recorders
Around 1700, the French composer and viol virtuoso Marin Marais created 32 variations on the then already popular Follia theme for viola da gamba and basso continuo. This arrangement by Adrian Wehlte in a transposition to G minor for two treble recorders thus comes close to the original instrumentation - at that time also with two viols.
