‘Fanny Power’, here in an arrangement for alto, tenor and bass recorders, was composed before 1728 by the blind Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan (1670–1738) in honour of Frances, the daughter and heiress of Carolan's patrons David and Elizabeth Power from Coorheen, Loughrea, Co. Galway. O'Carolan's works are influenced by traditional Irish music.
