Riccio, Giovanni Battista - Canzona - Sopranblockflöte und Basso continuo

Both Canzone of this edition were first published 1620 together with psalms, antiphones and more instrumental pieces in Riccios Terzo libro delle divine lodi (Venice).

By Riccio himself written for recorder and prong, the "Canzon a una" is one of the earliest compositions of the solo-sonata-tradition. It only asks limited demands of virtuosity and is through its relatively easy composition well suited for players that only have experience with Early-Baroque-solo-literature.
The second Canzone of this edition, "La Rubina", is for 2 soprano recorders, trombones and Bc and is an interesting piece, which also only has low virtuoso demands. Ideal to get used with old music!
