Sieg, Soeren - Kunjani - recorder quartet

African Suite No. 20 for recorder quartet ATBGb.
Ixesha means "time" in Xhosa, and the composer alludes to the African proverb: "The Europeans have the clock, the Africans have the time." Sören Sieg has tried to capture this different, floating, African sense of time in this piece. All four movements revolve around one theme each; there are a multitude of repetitions and variations, i.e. whether time slows down, circles or stands still.
